Scar Symmetry is a melodic death metal quintet from Sweden that started in April 2004. In addition to the more typical melodic death metal aesthetics (numerous melodies and harmonies in the guitars, growling vocals, etc.), they incorporate Symphonic sounds into their music. They also utilize a combination of clean vocals which some fans find akin to Power Metal. Scar Symmetry are currently signed to Nuclear Blast. Vocalist Christian Älvestam is also a member of Unmoored, Torchbearer, Incapacity, Quest of Aidance and Angel Blake.
