Marduk is a Swedish black metal band.
Marduk's predominant lyrical topics are Satanism, anti-Christianity and World War II. The latter is a more recent addition to their lyrical / conceptual themes, stemming from their 1999 release Panzer Division Marduk; quickly growing among their fans' favorites Marduk have released more and more songs relating to those dark but fascinating chapters of human history such as "The Hangman of Prague" (monicker of Prague "Reichsprotektor" Reinhard Heydrich), "Night of the Long Knives", "Deathmarch" and others. It has to be noted, however, that by singing about Nazi Germany, Marduk do not subscribe to the tenets of the so called 'national socialist black metal' scene (see NSBM), their approach not being justificatory or praising.
